Corrado idle problem

Hi guys Just wondering if anyone could help. My friend has a 2.0l 16v corrado and when idling it jumps between 700 rpm and 1200 rpm and won't settle. It also has no power when picking away in 1st gear just no power at low revs really

any advice would be ace
