nickg123 0
Just saw the post about rear Squirty.......It reminded me - my Wiper stalk is really annoying.I understand that you should push it forward to turn the rear wiper on? Mine doesn't have a position to "Click" into, it just turns the Washer on if anything....... then i can't work out how to turn the rear wiper off.I find the only way to turn it off is to push it forwards, then pull it back so the front washers come on.That seems to stop it but it's not a reliable way.....Do you think i've got a dodgy switch, or is this normal? antera309 3
Push the stick forwards to turn the intermittant rear wiper on. Push it forwards again to turn it off. It's crap, I know. One of the most annoying features of the Mk3 IMO!
nickg123 0
Ahhhh that makes sense now!!!!Lol - i thought it was buggered, feels like it should "click" into place to turn it on, but because it doesn't i figured mine must be faulty! Thanks for that mate! acf8181 0
totally agree...up there with the positioning of the inlet manifold bolts on a mkII 8v in terms of sheer stupidity by the germans.
RALA 0
It drives me up the wall what idiot thought of that..
MrBen 0
The way the switch is designed would make sense if you had to push it a bit further for the washer to operate, but as it is you manage to squirt the window just as you turn the wiper off and then have a few dribbles running down the back window! For some reason my VR seems to do this much more than the GTI did - perhaps it's a 6 cylinder washer pump?!

antera309 3
Honestly, pushing the wiper stalk forwards once briefly will stop it!!!When I bought my first VR, It took me weeks to figure that one out. That's almost as long as I spent looking for the foglight switches!!! ;-)
