maak 0
OK, just been to the stealership, apparently I need new plugs, leads, ABS sensor (which I was expecting TBH) and a speed sensor. Before I authorise the work to be done, what exactly IS a speed sensor - as far as I know my car senses the speed fine ! TIA!
vdubgirl 3
The speed sensor is in the top of the gear box and sends a signal to your fuel and trip computer and mileometer. If its not working it will mess these up
maak 0
Ooo, ok ta for that - I'm not sure why they say it needs replacing though as all seems well with the trip computer. HmmmmmmThanks again!

maak 0
Well thanks very much for all the posts ppl! I phoned the dealership and asked them what exactly is a speed sensor - he said it was there to "regulate the revs of the engine" (?) I said it seems to regulate them fine AFAIK!So I'm not getting it replaced - just the plugs, leads and ABS sensor. Hopefully, replacing the 30k/3year old plugs/leads will improve the old girl's performance!Cheers all
