gazbrook 0
I have been offered the above charger (zr2 version) for £1500, it has done approx 30,000 miles and has had a recon less than 1,000 ago. Is it worth that much and also what is the difference between this and the other one (vf engineering i think). The guy who is selling it is buying the vf engineering one so i presume the z engineering isn't as good.Cheers
Eat this 2
no its not worth it ps whats his number lol the z engineering isnt as good as the vf but for £1500 id be tempted
mark@vagworx 0
It's not the case that the Vortech chargers are any better, it's just the fact that the Vortech's are more upgraderble, ie pulleys etc.I'm more than happy with my Z Charger and the 265bhp it produces....horses for courses really.£1500 isn't a bad price, but you'll do well to getit lower
mightyvr6 0
It's probably worth £1200-400 with a chip. If it hasn't got a chip I would give about £1000-200 for it as remapping isn't cheap.
Eat this 2
tell me where i can get 1 with a chip for £1200 and i WILL buy it
gazbrook 0
It has got the chip with it, the charger looks to be in good nick but i obviously can't tell what it's like inside. Looks like my gf will just be getting a card this xmas!! I am gonna try and knock him down a bit if i do decide to go for it

mightyvr6 0
Check for play in the impeller and the condition of the cogged teeth on the impeller pulley but if it has been rebuilt the bearings and pullies are usually changed so it should be fine. It should also have a new 12 month factory warranty having been rebuilt. These kit cost £2000 new so I think £1350 would be a reasonable offer.
Nerih 0
pharw a supercharger for under 1500, i like the sounds of that!

If he said no i would prob say i'll give him the asking price if he fits it for me,he fit it on his car and it seems to be working fine.
Nerih 0
question gaz what are you u running currently to get 227bhp and 205 lb ft???cheers!
gazbrook 0
3 litre conversion,264 vento cup cams, gas flowed big valve head, straight through scorpion zorst, viper induction kit and remapped ecu, i think that's it. It's got great pull from 60 mph upwards just lacking a bit from bottom end in my opinion. Charger should help!!

mightyvr6 0
I would have thought the bvh would have given a lot more torque but maybe it has to be coupled with a vgi to make the most of the extra air the vgi pulls in.
Eat this 2
bvh?
mightyvr6 0
Big valve head. There's a well known corrado with schrick cams, vgi, schrick bvh, enlarged TB and rechip knocking out 230 bhp and 240 lbft.

Slim 0
Hmm this sounds like the same one you're selling on eBay that in your description says that you've never fitted it to your car, yet elsewhere on this forum, you say you blew your head gasket after fitting it. What's the script?
gazbrook 0
The one on ebay has done more than 15000 miles on recon. The one i had previously had approx 1000 miles on recon(read the first thread)Cheers
