Is there a coolent pump in the trottle body? Mine hums realy loudly when the ignition is switched on. Its not the coolent pump as thats unplugged.

I'm trying to work out if my electric pump has died or the relay. Can I just connect the electric pump up to the battery to see if it runs or will this realy kill it?

Gotta get this car back together before work tomorrow. (SN)

No coolant pump in the throttle body' date=' the coolant just passes through. Where is the noise actually coming from? The pump?

The noise is coming from what feels like the inside the throttle body. Last about 20 seconds. The electric pump is unplugged. The electric pump is the one mounted on the ouside right of the engine with two hoses coming out of it right?

UPDATE : Hard wired the pump to the battery and it didn't work so it must be FUBAR.
