vr6_blu 0 Posted July 28, 2009 Report Share Posted July 28, 2009 Hi mine was very noisey but I changed the fuel filters first just in case as they hadnt been done,but the pump still screamed its head off.Over time the pump got louder and the car started to lose power so I looked around and found a second hand genuine vw one for £45 which I fitted myself.If you do buy second hand beware their are 2 types one is for the deeper fuel tank and the other is for the not so deep tank.If you buy brand new they should know buy your registration but a genuine vw one is about £170 not cheap. golf harris 0 Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Share Posted August 1, 2009 #update# changed fuel filter car felt better but the pump was still buzzing so i pulled the pump out and gave it a good clean (lots of debris in the bag) put it back in the tank and what do you know buzzing gone pump quiet as a mouse!!! good job really as gsf wanted £270 for a new pump!! just a quick thought i suppose if any of your pumps are noisy give it a good clean first before you buy!!!
