Guest Nero1701
did you push the pistons out before fitting new pads?
xyber 1
did you push back the piston far enough, and put copper grease on the sliders and the slots the pads sit on?
russvr6 0
what do you mean push pistons out? i pushed them back in
xyber 1
yeah, using a clamp or something, to make room for the new thicker pads
russvr6 0
yeah i done that but thinking of it i didn't grease the the bit where the pad sits would this make them stick
xyber 1
if you didnt greae it or clean out the brake dust crust, that probablt the problem. Give the slider bolts a good grease up aswell
Knightrider 1
Stop on a slight slope. Release the brakes and the car should roll. If it doesn't, the pads are not releasing properly. Probably the sliders not cleaned and greased. Or jack it up and see if the wheel rotates easily and smoothly by hand.
russvr6 0
i did that the pads aren't sticking its just after i have been for a drive with quite a bit of braking i get home and the discs are red hot and the pads smoke. I have greased the sliders. is there anyway the pads connect to the calliper cos they just seem to sit on the sliders i also think the corrado set up is different to the golf set up?
