mtbond63 0
I've been able to benefit with some great savings on parts at GSF and also at my local VW garage. Also my company, SCR Audio & Window Tint (www.scraudio.co.uk) offer all premium members a discount of 10%!It's well worth the small fee of £15 thats for sure! jesterwalker69 0
Like Claire i have benefitted from discounts when buying new rear discs and pads. Also saved when using GSF, and a few other companies that i cant remember at the mo!But for all of my measly £15 i have saved over £100. Not to mention the amount i have saved in garage costs from the knowledge of other members!Best £15 i've spent and would happily pay more if the price should ever happen to rise
spiffo 0
It's worth it for me for the GSF discount alone, nevermind all the other benefits and discounts !
thomas2012 0
Even though I am a fairly new Premium member to the VR6 OC, since having the membership I have saved about £75 off my insurance, I also get discount from GSF not to mention new friends of like minded Dub heads that I have met along the way also lots of discounts (unexpected) just because I am a member of an owners club. Well worth the joining fee (you save alot more than you spend)
thegoth 5
I've been a premium member for 3 yrs and each year I've saved £40 on insurance. So thats £120!!I've made use of the GSF discount on numerous occasions for parts for both the VR and GTi ( :-* ! ).The most unexpected benefit was when I snapped my gear selector on the way to a show at Santa Pod. After I finally arrived in the backup VW, another premium member sourced me a 2nd hand part before I left! The VR was back on the road within days.
xyber 1
Over 2 years, the membership has cost me £10, but that has saved me well over £2000 on various discounts through group buys, GSF, Adrian Flux insurance and club member discounts
warnerp060869 0
For my £15 membership (sign up here) http://www.vr6oc.com/membership.php I've recieved: A smashing VR6OC window sticker for the car Not only but also, I can't speak for other branches but German and Swedish in Farnham, Surrey give the 10% OC discount + GSF Staff Discount on all orders paid in cash (inc debit card payments) which has saved me a couple of hundred quid easily since I bought the car in July. It saved the membership fee on the front discs and pads alone! But, best of all is the advice and help from the other members, it's priceless. And don't forget, the VR6OC discount at GSF covers ALL purchases, Oil, Coolant, Tools, do you have mates with German, French or Swedish cars? Use your VR6OC to help them out too! I've saved my mate almost £100 by ordering the brakes for his Galaxy from GSF and that's WITHOUT my VR6OC discount!Go on, you know it makes sense! It's £15, that's less than a ropey curry and will last a year
craggsy 91
Well same for me as regarding discs and pads from EBC. The GSF discount also pays for its self quite quickly, after I got it sorted so we do get it.Also a bargain price as well for vibratechnics engine mounts all round too.Dont do the insurance tho as i use Brentacre and they are already cheap
nivag27 5
Well I to have saved on front discs and pads from ebc, just brought 2 new tyres which saved me a packet. Gadget-Master 2
So far I have saved over £50 on parts from GSF using my VR6OC membership card. I would also like to add being a member is not just about saving money its being part of a great owners club with other like minded people. :-p
CJVR6 0
The knowlegde vault alone is worth the membership fee never mind all the other stuff available.

Abi 0
I have to say that I am a new member to both this forum and VR6 Ownership... have come from the air-cooled flat four/flat six carsI became a Premium member almost the same day as I signed up to the forum as I knew that this club would be a benefit to me... My experience in the month I have been on here has been fantastic...The forum is chilled and seems to have a friendly bunch of people... it's not too fast moving unlike other forums I am on and not full of crap.... everyone has a common interest in one thing...With regards to benefits... so far I have only used the Insurance discount... but not only on the VR6 but on another car I have renewed... they gave me a HUGE discount as a member of a VW club...which was nice...I have also had some Tech help... due to not knowing much about the VR6 engine.. It has water for a start!!!!.. I don't think I would have got such quick and friendly info from anywhere else...I also have to say that I can't wait for the show season to kick in when I will get to meet some of the guys on here for some beers... and to get the VR out on the strip... Jk* 0
Car insurance with Adrian Flux is my best saver...beat any quote by £300. Plus my usual discount at GSF works a treat too. Certainly worth that little bit of pocket money to support the club...in fact am I due to renew mine?!
brock 0
As a longtime lurker I have found this forum to be one of the most helpful and friendly VW forums. Each time I have posted for help... or searching for some of the more elusive parts... replies have never been more then 24 hours away (the majority of them within half an hour), and the help has been second to none! Since I have become a paid up member I have repaid my membership fees back many times over with discount on parts, group buys and also from the concise information in the premium members zone (which you can't easily find anywhere else on the net.... that ive seen). One of the members discounts I have used in early 2008 is the 15 percent off with vibratechnics. A set of three uprated engine mounts retails at 250 + vat (which is approx. 290). By mentioning VR6OC and quoting my membership number I was able to purchase direct from the manufacturer and they were delivered to my door for around 230 if I remember rightly. This one purchase alone (let alone the many other discounts I have used/abused ) ..... has paid for my membership for the next four years :-p With the credit crisis hanging over everyones heads for 2009.... the question isnt 'Can I afford to become a premium member to VR6oc?' but rather 'Can I afford not to become a paid member of VR6oc?' Lets face it ... all us VR6 owners need a little extra cash for fuel ..... we dont get many miles per gallon... but more then enough smiles per gallon All the best for the future of VR6oc and all its latest members .... you may not spot me.... but im lurking in here somewhere !!!! :-*
Dave_ciw 507
Alright dont know were to start. Since I joined I had 20% off greenstuff Brake pads all round, which saved me about £30.00. My head gasket blew last week and a fellow member sold me a new engine and some pointers on fitting a new head. Cheers Johnno83. :-d So I did the lot myself with the downloadable documents available to premium members. Taking into account the engine price and the gasket kit a couple of tubs of oil and some coolant, those docs saved me about £400 notes. But there is the two most wonderful things of all that come with PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP and thats the awesome sticker and the membership card that everytime you open your wallet its there to remind you.:-(Sign up and reap the benefits, you will have a dedicated team sourcing these products and services on your behalf. On that I just want to say thanks team your doing a great job I belive I speak for everyone in saying that.
amazak 3
Like others I have had the benefit of club discounts at places such as GSF and so on. However I have to point out that the friendships I have aquired since joining is PRICELESS!!! So £15 per year not only do you get expert technical help, chance to meet new friends, have a chat and sometimes moan a bit, add it all up and it is truely great value!Mod edit to change £15 per month to £15 per year. 12 times better value! Bigjobbo 0
I'm a mechanic and i work for VW, but you can never know enough, and this OC has already taught me so much. For me, the important things, are the guides. Yes i know how to change a water pump, but to refer to somebody else who has previously done the exact same job is priceless when your hitting something with a chisel and it ain't coming off. It stops me from breaking stuff! For somebody with basic mechanical knowledge to carry out that kind of job is worth the fee, plus what the garage would charge you!The membership gives you the ability to save yourself hundreds of ££ on service, running and tuning costs.I for one will be taking full advantage of my membership, my engine mounts are long overdue.Big thanks to the people doing the hard work. g60bron 0
GSF Discount is worth it for the £15 per year...
mpgscott 0
The wealth of knowledge on the site is tremendous and without it i would have been stuck! The how 2 section is worthy of the payment on its own!£15 you could spend that on a round of drinks, at least here you get something other than a hangover out of it.Very friendly bunch!
