Been meaning to do this for ages, seen as Ive been on here for ages now, thought I better get my arse in gear

Bought the VR from Chipping Sodbury nearly 3 years ago, It was a minter bar a small scratch on the roof and 2 small blisters, 1 above the screen and 1 on the rear quarter panel, completly standard, full VW service history and a new engine on warranty at 40,000 miles so the engine had only done just over 50k when I got it

The following weekend a set of TT comps, custom exhaust, LED rear lights and Hella celis headlights went on, followed shortly after with Eibach sportline suspension and a BMC CDA

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj303/xyber81/REAR.jpg

It stayed like that for 12months until I broke my arm and was off work for 2 months, I got bored and decided to buy a stage 1 charger on a GB run on here, which I have since upgraded to stage 2 and fitted a Schrick Inlet

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj303/xyber81/L1000051.jpg

Xmas 07 saw the biggest job yet, the full respray, It didnt really need it, but I knew just touching it up would annoy me and as my dad is in the trade got huge discounts on the materials, the paint and clear coat I went for was brand new at the time and is higher spec that any production manufacturer would use, in over 12 months it hasnt even pick up a swirl mark from washing

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj303/xyber81/HPIM0258.jpg

At this point the new paint made the TTcomps look tired, so off they went to Purklas, and came back like this

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj303/xyber81/HPIM0246.jpg

Then last summer I got bored of the TT comps as they are everywhere so got on the look out on ebay.de for some new wheels. I came across some RH ZW1s, 17 inchers, 8 and 8.5 inches wide, which I snapped up incredibly cheap, due to the seller being lazy and abit of a plank

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj303/xyber81/wheels.jpg

with them needing custom adaptors all the measurments were taken by a mate who help me out with it as I didnt have a clue how to put together the specs and diagrams the engineering firm would need to produce them

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj303/xyber81/HPIM0397.jpg

In the mean time the wheels where machine polished and given around 20 layers of different gloss magnifiers, sealants and waxes and some Porsche centre caps bought from Germany, which have now been sprayed to match the wheels

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj303/xyber81/P030908_1925.jpg

Then finally, yesterday after a few months of getting it together and getting things made or modified to get a perfect fit, the wheels were fitted with 205/40/17 Toyo T1R's to give a nice stretched look and finally fitted to the car

Thanks mate, decided on the stretched look just to make 100% I would get plenty of clearance all the way round, without it It would be very close to the fuel filler pipe inside the rear arch. Never been a huge fan of it myself but I quite like it now on the right style of wheel. I do admit its abit 'scene' though haha

Edition 38

Arrrggggghhhhh! never has a website irritated me more than that one 8o|

This is the best one by far, Ed38 is for 17 year olds who let their mk1 Golf rust out because they are lazy and then say its 'ratted' because they stick a humourous sticker ontop of a rust bonnet :)

Nice car' date=' who did the paintjob?

The reflection from the roof where you can se the airplane strips. . . . . . I thought they where scratches at first . . . .:).

[/quote']

It was done at my Dads work, the guy who sprays down there used to refinish E-type Jags so his work was top notch, plus he was left to do it in his own time with no interuptions so it came out spot on

Looks very very nice mate' date=' personally I think the RH ZW1s suit it much more than the TT comps :)

Been looking at either a Shrick or a VSR recently, how big a difference do they make with the charger ? and what bhp are you running ?

[/quote']

Now I could say I might sell mine soon.......but I wont coz I might not........ ;) :-p

295.0bhp @ 6674rpm 240.3ftlb @ 5697rpm , the schrick makes a hell of a difference, loads more torque lower down, as the torque created by the mani tails off the charger comes on boost to carry on, well worth doing I think

very nice numbers mate - got my new 10psi pulley on the way soon so should be about the same.

well sounds like a Schrick might be the next thing to buy ;)

Looooooking good (h) ' date=' just one question, how did you manage to fit 8,5's at the back without any arch work??? Or did you have the arches done when you resprayed the car *-) or was it the magic custom made adaptors?

Thanks

[/quote']

No arch mods, magic custom made spacers, a mate measured up for me and did the specs diagrams to send of the suppliers, who then got them made and then the mounting bolts for the rears needed the tapers machining back 2.7mm so they sat flush with the narrow spacers on the back, which are also stud conversions as they were to thin to bolt the wheels to

Awesome Marc' date=' those wheels are stunning, transforms the car. Can you get me a set ;-)

Keep your eye out on german ebay, it took me 2 months of checking every night till these popped up for a good price, they never seem to be 5x100 though and are always 5x112 like mine, but with massive offsets, so plenty of room to play with
