kawark 0
Hi,Car has the ABS light on so ran VAG COM which returned the following error:01276 - ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64) 16-00 - Signal Outside SpecificationsCould anyone advise if this is the actual pump or the abs controller. I know it says pump in the diagnosis but sometimes its a red herring!!Or can anyone suggest another way or diagnosing the fault?Been like this for about 3 years but at last MOT on Friday the inspector at the garage decided to fail her. He seems to forget that on the two other ocassions he has ignored the glowing orange light in front of him!! lol Any help is certainly appreciated.CheersMark
shail 0
I've had a load of different ABS codes on my car, from the one above to red herring abs sensor faults. All mine were down to cracked solder joints in the ABS ECU board. Got them checked and re-soldered. May be worth a look as it'll be cheaper than changing your pump.

wkd928 0
does anyone know where to find the wiring diagrams for the ABS on an early car?
mpgscott 0
If you want to bodge this for the mot simply hook the ABS onto the air bag warning and that will get it through the MOT. Easy to do simply take a feed from the Airbag led and connect to the, you could even be cleaver and put a capacitor inline to stagger when each led goes off.Of course you should get the fault sorted correctly, but i had a sensor go the other week and can honestly say that i did not really notice any difference without the ABS. From this i mean that when that led is lit the ABS is off as a fail safe the brakes go into normal operation. No difference as far as i can tell. All fixed now that the sensors been replaced.
