simon h 3
Just a quick question. One of my current leads is slightly split and arking a bit so need to replace.Have an R reg 97 Golf VR6(AAA).Should I just go for a set of OEM leads or look to change to maybe Magnecor or Spitfire? Is there any benfits from the aftermarket leads?. Cheers ..
xyber 1
Personally for a standard engine I dont think you would see any improvement really with performance leads over OEM, apart from any fresh leads will feel betterSo long as they are decent quality so id stay away from GSF leads and the like, splitfire is all marketing, Magnecors have a lifetime warranty but for value for money Megaleads or Dubpower are worth a look, ive heard OEM ones can be very expensive depending on where you get them from

Rikki 2
Magnecor are a pain...they dont sit in the plastic guides !!!
xyber 1
Schimmels are the nuts and only need the guides nibbled at just a touch, worth it just for the build quality of them
mannie 0
The stealers do sell single leads, tell them the colour you want at time of ordering.

SankysVR6 1
That is cheap, I paid about £90 in 2004 from the dealers. Might invest in another set at that price, for a rainy day.
Rick_1138 0
i just got the GSF plug lead removal tool, and it doesn't fit the plugs!!!The shaped section to go in the gaps in the metal of the leads, is set to high, so the teeth cannot get into the space.I will have to take a dremel to it and lower the gap a bit tio make it fit, but still, grrr.
