Saunders82 0
my car is at APS in brackley getting a new clutch schimmel cams and leads fitted, and immediatly i get a phone call first telling me one of my rear engine mounts is dead not really a issue ordered a new one but more predictable my sump is on its last legs due to me wacking it. I know someone with a dead 2.8 4 motion bottom end is there any advantage to me fitting one of these over the standard vr6 sump? Im picking the sump up tommorrow and i have a 12v in stock at work to compare. Will it be the same issue as a r32 oil pump needing to be used or should i buy a 2.8 4 motion oil pump? FishWick 21
No mate, the 2.8 sump bolts right on, no change of pump necessary,Personally though, if you corner hard and your car is low, I would take the oppurtunity to fit the R32 sump and pump. The R32 pump is exactly the same as the 12V one, except it has a shorter pick up pipe. Unfortunately VW won't sell the shorter pick up pipe on it's own, so you have to buy the whole pumps assembly.
