ThermalP4 1
Guys,Does anyone know how to bleed the BrakeMaster Cylinder?I've found what looks like a Bleed nipple right behind the brake pedal which i'm assuming is the Master Cylinder nipple.Doesnt look the same as the nipple on the Brale Calipers though. Looks like you have to undo a nut first. Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

NetStable 0
Sorry mate, im being retarded - I meant to say brake fluid reservoir but i've repeatedly said master cylinder! Bleeding the reservoir is what cured it for me
ThermalP4 1
Nice one. Thanks mate.I think I got myself confused aswell! So you bled the Reservoir and not the master cylinder?
NetStable 0
Yeah, after just bleeding the calipers the brakes were firm until the car fired up then they went soft, now after bleeding the reservoir everything is firm again. You having similar probs?
ThermalP4 1
Just went out to have a look mate.I can see a hose coming out of the brake fluid reservoir but it goes into a small block type object with a nut on it. That's got a solid pipe coming out of it.Can't see anywhere that look like a bleed nipple/valve.Am i looking in the right place?
NetStable 0
Just below the reservoir mate, confusing both of us again but it is on the master cylinder (I've just had a look)Here is the pic:
ThermalP4 1
I'm sure mine doesn't look like that.Dont know if there's a different between a 92 VR and a 97?
ThermalP4 1
Yup just checked. Havent got that bleed nipple. Got a solid pipe coming out of it on mine.I'd like to know where the bleed points are on the Master Cylinder.I've managed to get the online Bentley manual but still cant see a reference to a bleed valve on the M C.Thanks for the picture by the way mate. Appreciate it.My problem started when I had my front calipers changed and SS hoses fitted. When I had the car back the pedal nearly went to the floor. You think the garage would have checked this. Matt W 4
I think it can only be bleed using VAG-COM or similar on the later cars.
