22.7 MPG, crusing - Lambda Problem

Recommended Posts

My car was in for its MOT a couple of days ago and I had to have the cat refitted for it, I then removed it after the test. I noticed when refitting the decat section that the little bit of rubber round the wiring had come apart, I wrapped this in insulating tape just incase. Also the cables to the lambda were very twisted, I tried to undo it a bit but couldnt make much difference, Do you think my very poor mpg is due to this?

Thanks

Ken

Disregard the dash and do some math. Work out actually how much you are using from what you put in. This will tell you if you are getting any bogus info. Also, with your decat pipe in place, whip it down to the garage and see if it's running lambda 1 at idle, this would tend to suggest the sensor is still in the loop and doing it's job.

Well to be fair my highline was similar, but that was only because I did a lot of stop and start town driving, if it's out on the motorway at cruise, should be getting at least 28. TBH I got 250 to a tank so roughly (in today's market place) approx 115 to 20 Quid.
