kcw 1
My car was in for its MOT a couple of days ago and I had to have the cat refitted for it, I then removed it after the test. I noticed when refitting the decat section that the little bit of rubber round the wiring had come apart, I wrapped this in insulating tape just incase. Also the cables to the lambda were very twisted, I tried to undo it a bit but couldnt make much difference, Do you think my very poor mpg is due to this?ThanksKen
kcw 1
C'mon somebody must know, I cant get it to go about 22.8 no matter how much like a granny I drive.
Devildub_06 0
Are you taking the MPG off the dash readout?? Do you have any driveability issues? Hesitation, stalling etc?
kcw 1
Yeh just taking it off the dash, no stutting or stalling issues, its running sweet as a nut,
Devildub_06 0
Disregard the dash and do some math. Work out actually how much you are using from what you put in. This will tell you if you are getting any bogus info. Also, with your decat pipe in place, whip it down to the garage and see if it's running lambda 1 at idle, this would tend to suggest the sensor is still in the loop and doing it's job. kcw 1
Right I'd do some math then get back to you on that one.
kcw 1
I put 20quid in the other day and drove about like a granny (most of the time) and I'm getting just under 23 MPG so its not a faulty dash reading. Any ideas on the problem?

Devildub_06 0
Well to be fair my highline was similar, but that was only because I did a lot of stop and start town driving, if it's out on the motorway at cruise, should be getting at least 28. TBH I got 250 to a tank so roughly (in today's market place) approx 115 to 20 Quid.
