ICV idle control valve

Recommended Posts

the problem is that when the engine revs drop back to tick over they hang around the 1500 RPM mark and then drop back

so far I have replaced all the small rubber hoses around the fuel rail/pressure regulator as these were looking a bit worse for wear, also there was a split in the air trunking to the throttle body, so thats been replaced along with a couple of minor hoses that ran off the main one

someone has suggested that I clean the ICV, ok sounds easy enough but I dont think I have one?

any chance someone could post a picture of one or one showing where its located on the engine?

mines a 95, 12V

thanks in advance for any help and advice :)

the icv, if you have one is located at the right hand side of the engine as you look at it, its at the rear, under the black plastic cover the leads run in. its a metal cylinder with an electrical connection and two pipes on. if you do have one, try searching the forum for instructions on how to clean it, its been discussed loads in the past
