kalv 0
Guys,After reading lots of hints and tips I gave the car a once over tonight and the first thing i check - ABS light on ignition - didn't appear...?Could be a few things..? Bulb blown... or previous owner disconnected it? took it for a spin, empty road slammed on the brakes and behold I screeched my new tyres. I was well vexed! My wife and 14 month daughter use this car and now it's not 100% to do so.My options? Expensive check at VW or specialist? For the record it's my wifes Golf VR6, not my Rado VR6! spanky 0
My (airbag) LED blew recently, got a replacement and that was just the same, so got another, now it's fine but it sounds as if your ABS ain't working if you screeched your tyres. It could be one of the sensors that is knacked. If you don't want to pay VW's bloated price to put it on VAG com, and it is an OBD2 car, try one of these.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Scanner-Reader-OBD2-KKL-OBD-2-VW-Audi-diagnostic-VAG_W0QQitemZ120049428935QQihZ002QQcategoryZ30921QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemI got one a few months back and it has paid for itself many times over already. If it is an ABS sensor that has gone it will tell you which one it is!If it is the LED that has blown try ringing a bloke called Steve on 01480 211446 (a VW breakers). If it's the same as mine the part number is '1H2 919 235 S' (this is the whole cluster) and cost £15 inc delivery.Hope this helps
