  1. Sounds like a potential head gasket problem to me, likely between 2 cylinders - have you done a compression test ?

  3. Hiya Fuzzwaldo Awesome - always like to hear of a vr6 heading into another vehicle ! Mine was originally destined for a speedboat ! As for the gearbox !, I haven't fully removed the front drive from the gearbox as yet - however, it is very easy to do. For now I have removed the rear section of the gearbox (the rearmost ring of bolts around the casing), this's allows you to slide back the rear section of the box, inside you will see the Center Torsen type diff, like I say this is only temporary but I have welded the front/rear pinion gears together so all of the drive at the

Sorry for the delay in replying...., been very busy with work, chassis building, writing off my nice shiny 2010 3.0T A6..., buying an even nicer shiny 2010 S6..., sorting out a few issues with that, house buying etc etc !! However !, the chassis is coming together very well..., the front and rear sub assemblies from a 2008 S5 are attached, I had the propshaft in the lathe the other day and that is mocked up, the boost pipwwork parts and exhaust are all on the way to completion. Hi all A while back I bought a 1992 MK3 VR6 Golf (J350 ETV), had a dead engine, stripped engine, re-bore, new Pistons, shells, rings, head skimmed, spent lots on it, great car in excellent condition - nevertheless, sold the car now The car came with a spare engine which I knew nothing about...., I've since converted it to OBD2 (cam sensor and cover, coilpack, inlet, etc) Bought a loom, ECU, immobiliser, clocks, and.....
