paceo 22
hi guys, ive got a standard compression tester for my golf vr6, now obviously this wont determine if its a worn cylinder head or bottom end as the car is a bit smokey (blue - oil) with a compression tester i will do the test first when the engine is warm, then add a bit of oil to the cylinder again, if it rises a lot i believe thats the case for a worn piston ring? how much oil in ML do i need to add? or has anyone got a leak tester local to bromley in kent who wants to pop over and earn some ££
michael5556 247
Hello, when you do your compression test, they should all be within 10% of each other. If not then there is your problem.... As for the oil, just a small amount such as a spoonfull or eggcup... After that a leak down test as youve mentioned would be wise.
