Corrado in the Body Shop

Recommended Posts

The Corrado finally went to the body shop Monday (Beautiful Bodies (Kent))

3 Days in and the back end is looking almost ready. Next on the hit list start pulling and rolling the arches and cutting in the TT filler.

Has anyone ever fitted a TT filler? any words of advice or caution? The body shop are a little concerned about it

I have a TT filler flap in my MK3 golf..... Don't remember ever seeing one on a Corrado though ? If there are some they would be few and far between....

When we did mine, we "Lapped" it in to the rear quarter as we felt this was the best way to avoid to much sinkage. Bare in mind though that it will likely see some sinkage over time, but if the paint is good enough and plenty of laquer it should buff up just nicely.

Nice work!!

Progress this week, all the rot has now been dealt with, It would appear that the old girl has had a hard life before i got my hands on her!

All the glass is out, One rear arch has now been flared and the boys know how to progress with the rest so its now all go on that front.

TT filler is in, I understand my name is now dirt in the shop for making the guys do this but im really impressed with the results so far.

The back end has now all been straightened out, smoothed out the rear badge and seams and fixed up the shocking previous repair work like the rear quater that had been replaced but was only held in buy the fact that the other panels pinched it into place!!

3 arches, roof gutters and wing vent to go before paint!!

Will post some pics when i get a chance

Earwig, how do you operate your filler cap? are you still using the vac system? I'm looking at using an electric solenoid from a boot pull kit as the C only used the vac to lock the flap not to unlock.

I was going to use the MK4 button, but was told something to do with the polling of it would not work with the TT cap....

So simply have a generic button now that pops the cap. My filler flap came with all the solenoid from the TT so was all complete. Just needed the button to make it work.
