Had to change my boot lock as I didn't have a key for it and I'm struggling I get it to work now. Could someone send me a picture of their boot lock in place with the key in and also with the key pushed in? Hopefully seeing this will give me a good idea of how it should look. Cheers:)

You know you can 're- jig' the pins in the current lock to suit your keys. It saves having a key for ignition, each door handle & the tailgate. Im not sure if theres a how to lurking about but one of the guys down at my local VW breakers is a bit of a mk3 whizz and he can jig the barrels to suit the key.

Never knew that. Could be good to see how!

I've managed to get a working set of locks for doors and boot. So I only have 2 keys now which doesn't bother me.

Cheers for,the help guys.

Gain access to the back of the lock that you want to make universal, ie the same one as your ignition. Put your key in the lock barrel then take the c clip off the back of the barrel push the barrel out with your key still in it.

The shims are spring loaded so don't take the key out til you're on a work table.

Take note of the numbers and order of each shim ie 1,7,4,5,5,3.

Then reassemble the barrel and reinstall.

Repeat this process for the locks that need a different key, only changing the shim numbers and order to match the combination of the first one.

Then you will have all locks that use the same key.

You may find that you need to buy some spare shims if you don't have the correct amount of the relevant numbered shims.

Easy peasy.
