golf vr6 vrs corrado vr6

As said above I believe it really depends what sort of car your looking for and your circumstances. I'm driving my mates Corrado for a few days here and I would say as much as I love the car, if it was for a daily driver the Golf would be more practical (just my honest opinion)

in my opinion the only thing going for mk3 golfs is a vr motor, otherwise its just a golf, atleast a mk4 golf can have the R32 look about them, iv just recently brought a corrado vr6 and due to the price i paid it needs abit of work doing to but i knew that,if i was anybody else thinking i have snapped up a bargain idd be disapointed and probably would be pulling my hair out about the little bits of work that needs doing and keeps popping up,they are getting on abit now, want a good hassel free corrado? pay the price, otherwise be prepared to do some work to it,for me its deffo the corrado over a mk3 golf, i mean seriously its VW's sports coupe and its already a classic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QU5DcZVaUWk

Having never had the chance to drive a Rado and being younger the only viable option for me was the golf, but stylewise ive always had a soft spot for them plus you only ever here them moaning about the handling being better, so once thats sorted there cant be much in them can it?

i have had 2 corrados not vr's just 16v's. and i must admit did handle the road well. would love another one but i had 2 within 18 months and people kept ramming me. they were both wrote off twice within the 18 monoths the last one really put me off them. three were not my fault. but own a golf vr6 at the min and i love it to bits. and had no problems with the golfs. so sticking with them for now.

Man, thats really unlucky being rammed. Were you p*****g people off by leaving them at the lights or something? As said already, Golf is a good choice, more practical than the Rado, saying that the Rado looks so much better in my opinion. I always wanted a VR Rado, but struggled to get in and out of my friends G60 Rado, so I never got one and bought the VR golf, and I LOVE it.

another unlucky thing that happened to me in my last corrado was i got caught speeding by a unmarked police car on the way to my mates in spalding. it was a red skoda oktavia he got me doing averageing 111mph in a 60 then follewed me and got me doing 125mph in a 50 only thought i was doing about 80mph so got ban for 6 months lol. but yes the golf is a more pactical and the corrados are nice i would still love a corrado vr6 in white.but not after my bad luck i wont own another one.

Back to subject lol I had a golf vr last year that I got to 207bhp. I loved it then stupidly swapped it for a mint escort rs turbo. A few weeks ago I was offered a corrado vr6 from a friend and snapped it up! I feel I'm in a good position to comment :)

Firstly, build quality isn't such a big issue, there's no major squeaks, rattles etc, if it's been looked after there's no difference.

Secondly, while driving the rado there's that special feeling you get when your in something exclusive. I get the same feeling in my s13 200sx but never got it in the golf.

Finally, speed, handling etc is negligible as either car can be improved upon with minor modifications to match the other. The corrado is rarer, better looking and feels more suited to the vr engine.

I've had a mk3 vr6, mk2 vr6 and now on a corrado vr6, I love them for different reasons, but I'm totally smitten with my corrado, don't invisage me selling any time soon, it will a keeper, will just keep restoring it until its a minter, by then it should be well on the way to being a classic :-)

Ive only ever been a passenger in the Golf vr6, but I own a rado vr6, which I have also been passenger in, and I would say the Corrado has the edge throughout the driving experience, yeah parts are pretty much obsolete, but Im a member of the Corrado forum and have never had any problems finding any parts off of the guys on there. I have a MK4 GTi golf too which I like, but you dont feel anything when you drive it about, plenty golf,s out there, where-as the Corrado feela amazing to drive, not only everyone looks at her when she goes past, but the way it drives is special, the noise from the motor is incredible. I smile everytime I drive the rado.

The MK3 Golf I have never been a fan of - but thats just me, I see it as similar to the mk4 2.8 4motion, pretty damn good family hatchback but nothing special, the Corrado is a Sports Coupe, and lives right up to that title.

most corrado downers will say thats the best, and golf owners will most likely say the golfs the best, as people have said before, try and get a test drive with both, you will know straight away which one is for you buddy - this could be a really good reason for local meets!?!?!
